Portion of Skippack Pike Closing October 15 for Rail Crossing Work
Skippack Pike between North Wales Road and Route 202 will be closed to through traffic for about one week beginning October 15.
The closure will allow CSX to make much-needed upgrades to the railroad crossing on Skippack Pike just east of North Wales Road. The upgrades will enhance safety for motorists.
Residents and businesses will continue to have full access to their properties, but Skippack Pike will be completely closed at the railroad crossing.
Advance notice signs have been placed on Skippack Pike to alert motorists to the planned closure. Motorists should expect delays and allow extra travel time.
Detour routes will be posted in the area when construction begins. Morris Road and Township Line Road South can be used as alternate routes.
The repairs will be completed within one week, but weather conditions may delay the construction schedule.
CSX also plans to repair the railroad crossing on Township Line Road south during the week of November 19. These repairs will force the closure of Township Line Road south.
