A Deer Walked into Kohl's Dressing Room ...

This is not a joke. A deer was caught admiring itself in a dressing room mirror at the Kohl's in Hatfield Township Monday evening

An officer from the Pennsylvania Game Commission safely removed a deer from the dressing room at in Ralph's Corner Shopping Center in Hatfield Township Monday evening.

According to MyFoxPhilly.com, shopper John Templeton caught the mammal on camera inside the dressing room, admiring itself in the mirror.

Shoppers watched in awe as the deer looked at itself in the mirror, before knocking the door shut, according to the article.

It is believed that the deer triggered the handicapped door entrance to get into the store.

Hatfield Township Police responded to the store around 7:36 p.m., after employees said a deer was in one of the changing rooms, according to Lt. Eric Schmitz.

"Somehow the deer got in the store," he said. "Maybe it hit the handicapped entrance button in front. The store was not certain last night."

Kohl's employees evacuated customers from the store, Schmitz said, and made sure employees were then in a safe place.

Schmitz said police officers tried to create a safe pathway for the deer to find its way out of the dressing room.

"The deer did leave one dressing room, and found its way to another," Schmitz said. "It did not escape from one of the doors they opened to allow safe escape."

The game commission officer was able to harness the deer and lead it to the exit at around 9:48 p.m. Schmitz said the deer was released and it galloped west from the shopping center.

There were no injuries and no major damage to the store, Schmitz said.

Schmitz said the incident was "kind of odd" and was the oddest thing police have encountered this year for sure.

"We’ve had deer go into businesses, but not a big store like that," he said.
