Accidents Galore on Saturday

Numerous accidents plagued the North Penn and Indian Valley areas Saturday

It was a day of vehicular accidents and delayed traffic on Saturday in the North Penn and Indian Valley areas.

It all began at 4 a.m. when a transformer fire in Montgomery Township cut out all the lights at the Five Points intersection.

At around 11 a.m., Knapp Road was closed at North Wales Road due to a motor vehicle accident with a rescue on the Lansdale side.

Commuters in the area of Welsh Road/W. Main Street/63 and West Orvilla Road were delayed by a three-vehicle accident that blocked the intersection – this is where Spaniel’s Exxon and the cemetery are located.

Within minutes of one another, two accidents occurred in extremes of the county.

At 521 Ridge Road in Telford Borough, near Salford Township, crews from Tylersport Fire Co. and Telford Vol. Fire Co. and Souderton Ambulance rescued an individual trapped in a vehicle following an accident. MedEvac was put on standby and later called off, according to reports.

The subject was rescued at 12:57 p.m., according to reports.

Across the county, at 12:48 p.m. in East Norriton, an accident held up traffic at West Johnson Highway and Bradbury Drive. A subject had a head injury and was flown by MedEvac, according to reports.

Around 1:23 p.m., commuters on eastbound I-76 were delayed by a tour bus accident at mile marker 327.4. A person was pinned under the bus, and removed by state police, according to reports. The patient refused medical service, according to reports.

At 1:23 p.m., Lansdale Police responded to an accident at West Seventh Street and N. Towamencin Avenue.
