Black Swan Worth $1,500 Stolen from Towamencin Bird Farm

The theft of the Australian black swan was reported by Stewart's Bird Farm on May 22.

An Australian black swan was reported stolen from a bird farm in Towamencin Township last month.

Towamencin Township Police said the owner of Stewart's Bird Farm at 1560 Old Forty Foot Road reported May 22 that the $1,500 black swan was missing from the property.

Police said there are no suspects.

"The swan was not there, and they believe it was stolen," said Towamencin Township Police Chief Tim Dickinson.

Stewart's Bird Farm has been owned and operated by Jamison and Christel Stewart since 1995.

According to its website, Stewart's Bird Farm is open to the public.

The Australian black swan isn't the only animal that calls the farm home. Stewart's Bird Farm is also the abode for llamas, miniature horses, ducks, geese, fancy and miniature chickens, pigs, goats, pigeons, pheasants, bassett hounds, pygmy goats and sheep. 

The farm also sells feed, seed, toys and cages.
