Clean and Green Fundraiser a Success
The Lansdale Library and Lansdale Farmers' Market-sponsored event raised money for the library's budget
The Lansdale Library matched, if not exceeded, last year's fundraising tally of $800 at Saturday's second annual Clean and Green Extravaganza fundraiser, according to library director Tom Meyer in The Reporter Newspaper.
Volunteers washed about 20 cars and more than five pallets of recyclable electronics at the event. Donations from the car wash totaled around $187.
Those who brought recyclable electronics paid a fee per item, be it old computer monitors, towers, keyboards and the like. According to the article, the recycling company waived the charge of transporting the equipment, meaning the library took in more than $300 in profit.
There was also a paper shredding event and a bake sale at the Lansdale Farmers' Market.
