Five Things to Know Today: Aug. 18

There's a free concert in Montgomery Township today and free books (with library card) in Water Tower Square.

 

1. Walton Farm Elementary School, 1610 Allentown Road, Towamencin, holds its annual Kindergarten Day event today at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. for kindergarteners and first-graders riding the bus for the first time.

2. Lansdale Library celebrates summer reading with an event at Stony Creek Park today at 11 a.m. The library requires attendees to bring a lunch.

3. Want to win more than $2,500 in trips and prizes? Then be in Lansdale tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at Molly Maguire’s’ Bon Voyage Party. The Irish restaurant and pub will have discounted appetizers, $5 strawberry margaritas and live music.

4. Melissa Martin & The Mighty Rhythm Kings perform at 7 p.m. as part of Montgomery Township’s Summer Concert Series at Gazebo Park. Martin, considered a leading lady of the blues, leads a band adept at rocking blues, R&B and jazzy ballads.

5. The Montgomery County Bookmobile will be at Water Tower Square, Horsham Road and North Wales Road, Montgomery Township, today from noon to 4 p.m. and tonight from 5 to 7 p.m.
