Five Things to Know Today: Feb. 6

Expect traffic restrictions for Route 202 Parkway construction this week

 

1. Laurel House will announce the winning submission for its “Name the New Thrift Shop Contest” on its website and Facebook page today. The nonprofit advocacy organization for people affected by domestic violence will be opening a thrift shop in the Lansdale area in mid-March.

2. Lansdale Library Committee meets at 6 p.m. at the library.

3. Kurt’s Magic World hosts a free magician’s club at 6:15 p.m. for all ages.

4. Travel restrictions will occur this week for the Route 202 Parkway construction.

Flaggers will direct an alternating single lane of traffic on County Line Road between Stump Road and Kingston Way in New Britain and Montgomery townships starting today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for water line construction.

Daytime lane closures will occur in Upper Gwynedd, Lower Gwynedd and Montgomery townships starting today from 9 a.m. to 3 p..m. on Route 202, between Swedesford Road and North Wales Road, and on Route 63, between Stump Road and North Wales Road.

5. Portolese Family Chiropractic, 490 Pennbrook Parkway, Lansdale, will hold a free wellness class “How to Stay Young the First 100 Years” at 10:15 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
