Five Things to Know Today: September 22

Retro Fitness in North Wales, located on Welsh Road in Montgomery Township, holds a health and safety day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 

1. Peaceful Living, a Harleysville nonprofit that serves people with disabilities, hosts a conference all day at Souderton Mennonite Church, 105 W. Chestnut St., Souderton, with the theme “Flourishing: Reaching Divine Potential in Whole Community.” Guest speaker is Stephanie O. Hubach. Workshops will address congregational supports for disability ministry; everyday ethical and family issues; obtaining the resources an individual needs; supporting returning veterans; autism; and cultural perspectives on disability. Sessions begin at 9 a.m. and end at 4:30 p.m. Fee is $75 per person, which includes breakfast and lunch.

2. Retro Fitness in North Wales, located on Welsh Road in Montgomery Township, holds a health and safety day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

3. Hatfield Vol. Fire Co. holds its sixth annual golf outing at Fox Hollow Golf Club, 2020 Trumbauersville Road, Quakertown. Donation is $90 per golfer, with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. Dinner and awards follow.

4. Univest Bank and Trust Co. holds a Susan G. Komen Foundation Family Fun Day fundraiser at its Vernfield location at 2870 Shelly Road, Harleysville, from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Free activities include a moon bounce, face painting, children’s games and Univest mascots. Upper Salford Fire Co. will have their Touch-a-Truck program. Other events include giveaways, 50/50 cash raffle, food and refreshments.

5. Bharatiya Temple, 1612 County Line Road, Montgomery Township, holds an ethnic food and crafts festival today and Sunday. There will be Indian cultural programs, music, food and arts and crafts. The event is celebration of the 10-day Ganesh Festival, which began Wednesday.
