A former student who has not been seen since early Tuesday morning has been reported missing by his family.

Sean Buehrle, 22, was last seen leaving the Weis Markets store in Pennsburg, where he worked, at about 6 a.m. on the morning of Tuesday, Aug. 9. He failed to appear for his next shift at work.

According to Buehrle's sister, Candis Buehrle, there has been no activity on Sean's cellphone since he disappeared, and no activity on his banking accounts since Aug. 5.

"It would [be] absolutely out of character for him to just take off. He is quiet and sticks to hanging with his family rather than going out with friends," Candis Buehrle wrote in a plea for help posted on Facebook.

Buehrle has been living in Pennsburg for about a year, his sister said. She wrote that he does not own a car.

Buehrle, who grew up in North Wales, graduated from North Penn High School in 2007. He is expected to graduate from Drexel University next spring.

"He would have been going back to Drexel in September and was very excited for his senior year," Candis Buehrle said.

Buehrle is about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes. He is believed to have been carrying a red, black, and grey backpack at the time of his disappearance.

Posters distributed by family and friends ask those with information to contact Sean's mother, Kathy Buehrle, at 267-640-1756.
