The nonprofit organization Knights For Life — which provides donations and support to North Penn families and individuals suffering a loss or battling an illness — held its first-ever Beef and Beer Fundraiser Saturday night at Presentation of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church on Allentown Road in Towamencin.

The beef and beer was inspired by a prior successful beef and beer in 2012 called "Miketallica," which raised money for the family of the late Mike Saks, a North Penn graduate and former teacher.

Saks and the late Chris Melchior — both died from cancer — were the North Penn Knights "for life" whom inspired friends and classmates to form Knights For Life.
