Nearly 90 bicyclists stopped in Whitpain on their journey from Boston to Alexandria, VA on Wednesday afternoon. The Muddy Angels, started their trip on Friday in Boston and will finish the tour of the east cost on Friday in Alexandria, VA. Along the way, they ride through Rhode Island, Ne York, including New York City, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Riders are from all over the country, from Maine to Florida, and including California and Washington State. In the past riders from Canada, Germany and Ireland have joined the Muddy Angels in the sojourn.

The group rides to honor the EMS workers who have died in the line of duty and advocate for safety of emergency services equipment and healthy emergency service workers.

Jim Perkins, Public Information Officer for Muddy Angels, said most of the EMS workers they ride for have suffered a cardiac arrest while on duty.

The east coast ride is an annual event and Perkins said the riders always stop at a Second Alarmers Station in the area. This is the first time they have stopped at the Whitpain SARS station.

Hi Shirley,

We could set you up with your own blog, where you could post photos, as well as background information on any animals you're currently helping. You would be able to post as often as you'd like, and we would gladly feature your posting as we would other content on the site.

If this is something that interests you, feel free to email me at keith.heffintrayer@patch.com or Editor Leann Pettit at leann.pettit@patch.com, and we'll get you squared away.
