Lansdale Police have arrested a charged a Montgomery Township man on alleged marijuana dealing charges after a third controlled buy in the borough.

Shyeed Shaqu Tournkara, 20, of the 200 block of Cricklewood Circle, was arrested Feb. 1 and charged after a two-month investigation by investigators.

Tournkara faces the following offenses:

  • Three felony counts of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance
  • Two felony counts of criminal use of a communication device (cell phone)

Tournkara remains incarcerated at Montgomery County prison, after failing to post $50,000 cash bail set by District Judge Thomas Palladino of Pottstown at arraignment, police said.

A preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 26 at 11:30 a.m. before District Judge Harold Borek.

Between September and November 2012, Lansdale Police received numerous reports that a man named "Peanut" was allegedly selling marijuana in the North Penn region, police said.

"Peanut" was identified as Tournkara, police said.

Between December 2012 and January 2013, a detective in the Lansdale Street Crimes Unit allegedly made three undercover buys of marijuana from Tournkara, police said.

On Feb. 1, Tournkara was arrested on a traffic stop in Lansdale Borough after the third alleged undercover purchase, police said.

This is Tournkara's first criminal offense in Pennsylvania, according to court records.

All for something less harmful than alcohol. And why was his bail set at $50,000 cash? That's the kind of bail people get when they are arrested on gun charges. This guy was not armed so why the excessive bail?

All for something less harmful than alcohol. Well there you have it! Now consider the people that were sold to. How many committed a crime such as breaking in to a home, shoplifting, robbing and assaulting a store owner, stealing from unlocked cars, and on and on and on, to get the money to buy this and other drugs.
Wake up people it is illegal to sell drugs.

all of you talking about peanut need to shut up! You dont know shit about him to judge him off of one mistake. He is a wonderful young man who had a rough life made a mistake and paid for it. Weed does not make people steal or anything stupid like that so to connect it to extreme crime is pathetic. If it was that bad they wouldn't be making it legal. He without sin be the first to cast a stone. Only god can judge him not any of you. You have ALL sinned so to insult him the way you are on here makes you hypocrites and pathetic. He is a kid that messed up. All you assholes see is his color so you want to make him out to be a monster. You dont know shit about him so please shut the FUCK up

@worldpeace2013 and your a nut who has nothing better to do than sit in a chair and talk out your ass. Shut your non factor ass up. You speak like your better than him calling him a lame. You look stupid. There is so many young men being killed for no reason Trayvon martain being one of the many, there are kids and women and men being raped, murdered, and assaulted. Old women and men being beaten. This world has so much more wrong with it than a 20 year old selling yet you chose to speak on this like your voice on this matter will make a difference. Your name is world peace yet your simple minded self is focused on this instead of things that can actually bring peace. Get it together...you go read a book focus on your life dickhead!!!
