Lansdale Teen Arrested for Alleged Assault on Pregnant Girlfriend

Mark Gross, 19, of West Fifth Street, attempted to flee police when he was arrested at his home, police said.

A Lansdale teen was arrested Jan. 19 for allegedly assaulting his pregnant girlfriend in their home.

Mark Gross, 19, of the 200 block of West Fifth Street, attempted to flee from police when they came to arrest him, police said.

Gross is charged with simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats and harassment, police said.

He was arraigned before District Judge Harold Borek and bail was set at $10,000 straight cash. Gross was detained by Montgomery County Adult Probation, and transported to Montgomery County Correctional Facility.

On Jan. 14, Lansdale Police responded to the 200 block of West Fifth Street for a report of a female that had been assaulted.

Upon arrival, police spoke with a witness who stated a female victim ran out of the house crying, and said that her boyfriend, identified as Gross, had attacked her, police said.

The woman was transported to Lansdale Hospital for treatment by Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale.

The victim told police she was pregnant and her stomach hurt, police said.

She said Gross had smacked her in the head and face with an open hand, police said, and he punched her in the face and head with a closed fist.

He also bit her on the upper right shoulder, grabbed her hair and twisted her head and choked her several times until she almost lost consciousness, police said.

Police said the victim was able to get away and run outside, but Gross had fled the scene prior to police arrival.

Police arrested Gross on Jan. 19 on a warrant at his residence. Upon arrival, he attempted to flee out the rear door, but he was immediately taken into custody, police said.
