Man Rescued from YMCA Pool, Flown to HUP
The male was unconscious, but breathing, Saturday afternoon after being rescued by lifeguards and Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale medics
A man was pulled unconscious, but breathing, from a pool at the North Penn YMCA in Lansdale Saturday afternoon.
At around 4:30 p.m., reports came in for a trauma patient with the need for a helicopter for medical transport.
The patient was flown via PennStar, which landed at Penndale Middle School, and transported the man to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
According to Dan Sokil of The Reporter, a man in his 20s was pulled from the pool, and was resusciated by lifeguards and medics with Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale.
YMCA's Amanda Griffies told The Reporter that YMCA lifeguards rescued the man.
Griffies told The Reporter the man appeared to be having a seizure and was breathing on his own.
VMSC were assisted at the scene by Lansdale Police, Fairmount Fire Co. and Fairmount Fire Police.
The man's name and condition were not known as of Sunday evening.
