Hate to break it to you, but this is a news story. News stories are often accompanied by pictures. Just because he was your friend/relative, that doesn't make the pictures any less relevant, newsworthy, or appropriate.

Well Tony, I thought it was a great article. It seems there are a few upset people here who are probably closely related to the suspect who caused the standoff. If ABTruth had actually read the article a little closer, they would have realized that most of the statements about the occurrence came from Detective Hanrahan. Perhaps ABTruth would like to dispute the facts with him instead.

So someone who was cleared to be in the area wanted to make a few extra dollars and took photos secretly? That's really good clearance attempt that was made. The scene was locked down by Colmar Fire Police; no one could get to the scene, including press. This was taken in the command center area. The pictures will not be removed. The pictures will be rotated and re-featured however.

The property is the location of the corporate offices of N. Paone Construction Inc, and it is owned by NRP Properties, LLC, of 590 Kohlman Circle, Hatfield, which is the LLC of Nicola Paone.

According to court records, Paone was indicted by a federal grand jury in connection with an interstate methamphetamine trafficking operation in 2007, and he would later plead guilty to charges of distribution of methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.

Paone was sentenced to time served, plus a $5,000 fine and five years of supervised release, which ends in 2014.

Journalism involves pictures and a story. A good reporter will tell the truth AND post pics. Get over it. If the guy on the stretcher didn't want attention drawn to him or quite possibly, a story written about him, He should have thought about that in the first place.
When 911 happened.. Did you see any pics of people? I did.
Were you infuriated that Reporters posted their pics when they were crying and distraught? The pics add emotion to the story. It's people like you who can't control your emotions - who make things a bigger deal than they are.

There is no slander in this story. All information posted in this story is fact, especially Paone's previous indictment history which is available online to the public.

Furthermore, the command center was not cordoned off and prohibited from the press. It's a command center - that is its purpose: a place for police and press to stage during a public incident.

This article states FACTS. Obviously, "Blank" and "Really??", you have a problem with facts. I found it quite interesting that this article stated a FACT about Paone who is the owner of the buidling and who also has a criminal background attached to METH and METH happened to be all over the news the day prior.

I am a big fan of this article. Stop referring to this man as the "patient". He might be a patient now, but above all else, he is a "suspect." A suspect that held an entire street and a section of a community hostage for over 3 hours. Over a girl leaving him? Really? Pathetic! They really need to post his name, like any other suspect of a crime.

As far as Nick Paone goes, until he completes his sentence, he hasn't finished paying for his crime. When a crime happens on the property of a CRIMINAL, it should absolutely be documented by the press. Especially when the criminal is a felon Meth distributor and the subject of Meth in this area is a hot point this week. Coincidence? Maybe. But unlikely.

Oh, I am also bipolar and PTSD. My name is attached to this and I am not embarrassed. But I am much more qualified to speak on the subject than yourself, being as that I am personally exposed to what this man is going through, not simply treating people with this illness.

I am also a concerned citizen. Suicide is every man's right. SELFISH! But his right. But when it then effects the community on something other than an emotional level, it become criminal.

Well, I am simply going to state to ABTruth that I never got personal with you. I simply stated my relevance and knowledge in the subject matter at hand. To attack on a personal level is the act of a defeated person. So with all for respect, you can take your degrees, certs, and lies about being at Ground Zero, and save them for the families of the patients you font save. Maybe they will enjoy them more.

Dear Blank. The Reporter printed overnight. It was on the stands before the sun came up today. Through this same stretch of time, this article never mentioned Nick Paone. This article was adjusted today when that information was released by the HPD, as stated. With that said, nowhere in this article does it say anything about hostages. More did it ever. Maybe you should actually read the article.

This was your own mind creating this illusion. 2) The definition of slander reads "a malicious, false, and defamatory statement or report"; furthermore, slander is an oral statement. I believe the word you are looking for was "libel". The problem is, the allegations have to be false and malicious in nature to be considered libel. These were merely facts that were reported as information pertaining to the story, therefore it can't be considered slander or libel. 3) The photo issue was already addressed; press photographers were allowed access to the staging area. Irregardless of where the photos were taken, it is the duty of a journalist to report on information that is relevant and pertinent to the story, and that includes photographs. News sources around the world implement citizen photographs of news events when they don't have adequate photographic coverage of their own. Stop with the misplaced anger, crying foul over something that isn't. If you don't like what was reported, perhaps take it up with the person who caused the incident in the first place. If it weren't for him, this wouldn't be news.

The friends of this man and Nick Paone are ridiculous. But nowhere near as ridiculous as the defenses of these people. Please. Tony is an excellent reporter. A reporter sticks to the facts. I've known Nick for almost 15yrs. He was even at my wedding. Just because he has a family and a business doesn't mean shit. He is still a drug addict and trafficker. He is just more carefull about now compared to the wacky job he was years ago. I also know almost all the guys that got busted and I've seen Nick with 2 of them many times...they are all hardened criminals. They rob other dealers,beat up people that owe them money,break into homes to steal shit and ripping people off at the shop...I know what's going on I'm involved in it everyday.
