Mark Your Calendars for Local Holiday Events
This weekend and next weekend are chock full of donation opportunities, Santa Claus visits
As we near Christmas in about two weeks, mark your calendars now for upcoming Toys for Tots donation events and visits from Santa Claus.
Here’s a look at what’s happening in and around our area.
- Coldwell Banker Realty Corp. will hold a Holiday Open House and Toys for Tots donation Saturday and Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day at its location at 600 E. Main St., Lansdale.
Santa will be there as well and parents can get a picture of their children with Santa for free.
People are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy for donation.
- Giant Food Stores has partnered with U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program to provide local children with a new toy for Christmas. Up until Saturday, customers can bring a new, unwrapped toy to the collection box by the customer service desk.
Customers can also purchase a paper candle for a $1 donation for the Children’s Miracle Network. The campaign ends Saturday.
- Montgomery Township has a collection bin for Toys for Tots in the lobby of the township building at 1001 Stump Road in Montgomeryville.
- Lansdale Borough has a collection bin in its vestibule for Toys for Tots at borough hall at 1 Vine Street in Lansdale.
- Santa Claus will make his rounds to neighborhoods in Montgomery Township on Dec. 24, beginning at 2 p.m.
- Santa Claus will make his rounds to Towamencin Township neighborhoods on Dec. 17, starting at 9 a.m.
- Towamencin Police Department will host Santa Claus at its location at 1090 Troxel Road on Dec. 18 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Visitors can also bring a new, unwrapped toy and canned foods for donation.
- In continuing its “Holidays at the Homestead” tribute to Mayor Mike DiNunzio, Lansdale Historical Society will have an encore of the collection of Mayor Mike on Dec. 17 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Jenkins Homestead.
