McGovern Named New Lansdale Catholic Principal
Rita McGovern will be the 15th principal at Lansdale Catholic. She replaces Timothy Quinn, who suddenly resigned as principal in July
Lansdale Catholic President Jim Casey announced to parents, students and faculty last week that Rita McGovern has replaced Timothy Quinn as principal of Lansdale Catholic.
Quinn suddenly resigned as principal in July.
McGovern was appointed as principal by Archbishop Charles Chaput, according to Casey in an email to parents.
McGovern's late husband, Joe, was a teacher at Lansdale Catholic.
McGovern will be the 15th principal at Lansdale Catholic since 1949.
For 16 years, McGovern was assistant principal for academic affairs at Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls in Philadelphia.
McGovern also served as a teacher at Archbishop Wood High School in Warminster, and at St. Hubert Catholic High School for Girls in Philadelphia.
"May our Lord bless her as she begins her leadership position at LC and may our Patroness, St. Therese of the Little Flower, continue to shower upon our community 'a rose from the heavenly gardens,'" wrote Casey.
