Memorial Today for Marino, Vigil Saturday

Family and friends are welcomed at the memorial this afternoon at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home. A vigil is planned at Marino's death site in Sellersville on Saturday afternoon

Family and friends of Michael W. Marino Jr., the 26-year-old Quakertown man and former Souderton Area High School student, are invited this afternoon to a memorial service.

The memorial will take place at 2:30 p.m. at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale.

A vigil in honor of Marino is planned for 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 16 at Clymer Avenue and East Old State Road in Sellersville. This is the location where Marino Jr. was shot to death by an unidentified Perkasie Police officer.

A memorial currently exists at the location.

A petition calling for justice for Marino's death and police reform has 648 supporters on Facebook.

The Bucks County District Attorney is investigating the actions of the officer to justify the killing.

It was reported by Fox 29 News that witnesses told investigators that Marino was handcuffed when he was shot.
