Montgomery Township Cop Promoted to Patrol Officer
Officer Taylor Jones is a former Marine who joined the Montgomery Township Police in 2009
Montgomery Township Police Officer Taylor Jones has moved up in rank.
On Monday night, township supervisors unanimously approved the promotion of Jones from recruit officer to patrol officer I.
Deputy Chief Scott Bendig said Jones began his career with Montgomery Township Police in 2009, after a five-year tour with the U.S. Marine Corps.
On July 14, 2009, Jones completed his Municipal Police Officers Certification, and was promoted to recruit shortly thereafter, Bendig said.
"Since that time," Bendig said, "Officer Jones has received above above average performance evaluations from his patrol sergeant. He is a very proactive officer. His duties are an asset not only to the department, but the squad which he is assigned to at this time."
Supervisors Chairwoman Candyce Chimera welcomed Jones aboard.
"Excellent. Congrats," she said.

In other words... This department found a loop hole so this guy could skip the Civil Service Test and avoid all other competition for the job.
