North Wales Police Chief Resigns
Barry Hackert, a 10-year veteran of the police force, submitted a letter of resignation Tuesday night
Suspended North Wales Police Chief Barry Hackert has resigned from his position.
According to Bradley Schlegel of The Reporter, North Wales Borough Council voted unanimously Tuesday to accept his letter of resignation. Hackert was not present during the meeting.
Schlegel reported Hackert has been suspended since January. On December 30, Hackert allegedly struck the head of security at Split Rock Resort in the Poconos.
Council will not release the reason for Hackert’s suspension.
