Spring Arrives In a Hurry, but Punxsutawney Phil Might Disagree!

Mild temperatures will strike the region, making the end of January into February a bust for winter

As this winter continues to disappoint the snow lovers out there, this week's weather won't grant any wishes, as a warm front from the south brings unseasonably mild temperatures to the region.

Temperatures on Tuesday will soar into the upper 50s due to a large high pressure system that is passing over the south moving northeastward pretty quickly.

The skies will be mostly sunny allowing for a beautiful day that will make you say, "It's not even February yet!"

As the sun sets, clouds will build up in the area as a cold front from the west will bring showers around Wednesday's morning rush hour. Off and on showers will continue throughout the day, with temperatures hugging the 60 degree mark.

As night approaches, the cold air will creep down from the northwest. Due to mostly cloudy conditions, the low temperature will stay around the upper 30s.

Groundhog Day might be right on point as Punxsutawney Phil emerges from his hole. The mostly cloudy skies combined with the dropping temperatures will have him scurrying back for six more months of winter! The high temperatures will be in the upper 40s, still above average.

Friday will be pleasant with mostly sunny skies with high temperatures continuing in the upper 40s.

Saturday is calling for partly sunny skies and cooler, with temperatures reaching the low to mid 40s. The nice weather will come to an end as an approaching low pressure system builds in the midwest by Saturday evening. Expect temperatures Saturday night to be back to normal while hanging around the 30 degree mark.

Super Bowl Sunday will be partly sunny early with increasing cloudiness throughout the day. Temperatures will be slightly cooler in the low 40s. At 8 p.m., right after the kickoff, the clouds will thicken as the storm sneaks up from the west. The temperatures are expected to be too warm for any wintry precipitation at the onset, so rain will be the culprit arriving after halftime.

As next week begins, temperatures might be cold enough during Monday's morning rush hour to see some wet snowflakes at the back end of the storm. As the weekend approaches, more accurate forecasts will be made.
