Telford Women Allegedly Caught With Heroin in Wawa

Stephanie Teufel, 23, and Dianna Laird, 33 were found in the Wawa bathroom on Forty Foot Road allegedly in possession of heroin. One had 111 bags in her possession

Two Telford women were caught allegedly with heroin in their possessions in the bathroom of Wawa at 200 Forty Foot Road in Towamencin.

Dianna Laird, 33, of the 100 block of Reliance Place, and Stephanie Teufel, 23, of the unit block of Reliance Court, were arrested by Towamencin Police June 30 at around 5:17 p.m.

Laird was turned over to Lower Salford Township Police on an active warrant, police said. Drug charges are pending.

Teufel was charged with the following, which includes three felonies:

  • Felony possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Receipt in commerce of a controlled substance
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Felony criminal conspiracy of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance
  • Felony criminal use of a communication facility

Teufel was arraigned before District Judge Robert Sobeck of Blue Bell and released on 10 percent of $10,000 bail, police said.

Teufel has a preliminary hearing set for September 18 at 11:30 a.m. before District Judge Harold Borek in Lansdale. It was continued from July 11, according to court records.

This is Teufel's first criminal offense in Montgomery County.

Laird pleaded guilty in January 2010 to felony forgery and misdemeanor charges of receiving stolen property, theft, two counts of access device fraud, two counts of knowlingly possessing a counterfeit access device, and two counts of identity theft, according to court records. The charges stemmed from an October 2009 arrest in Quakertown Borough. 

Laird was sentenced to two years probation and ordered to pay restitution,according to court records.

Laird pleaded guilty in 2005 to drug possession and use stemming from a Montgomery Township arrest. She was sentenced to one year probation.

Here's what went down:

On Saturday, at around 5 p.m., police responded to Wawa for a report of suspicious circumstances.

Upon arrival, police met with the store manager who told police she went to the bathroom and found Laird sitting on the floor of the stall with her back against the door, police said.

A syringe, purse and another unidentified object were allegedly found next to Laird on the floor, police said.

The manager exited the bathroom and called police. An employee was positioned near the door to keep others out of the restroom.

Police found Teufel to also be in the bathroom. While talking with Teufel, police said she was under the influence of a controlled substance.

Teufel was found in possession of 111 individually-packaged bindles of suspected heroin, syringes, Q-Tips, tourniquet straps, empty clear bags and a plastic spoon, police said.

Laird was found in possession of two individually-packaged bindles of suspected heroin and a Xanax pill, police said.
