Towamencin Man Imprisoned on Assault Charges

James Carr Heath Jr., 43, of Allentown Road, was arraigned Dec. 5 on assault and false imprisonment charges after a woman reported he allegedly assaulted her during an argument at their home

 

A Towamencin man remains in prison on charges that he allegedly assaulted a woman at her home on Allentown Road on December 5, and allegedly prevented her from leaving the home for her safety.

James Carr Heath Jr., 43, of the 1300 block of Allentown Road, was arrested and charged with two misdemeanor counts of simple assault, false imprisonment and two counts of harassment, according to court records.

Heath was arraigned December 5 before District Judge Harold Borek, who set bail at $25,000 cash, according to court records.

A preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 13 at 1:15 p.m. in Lansdale.

Police said the victim came to Towamencin Police on December 5 and reported that Heath allegedly physically assaulted her, and held her down to prevent her from leaving her home. She told police the alleged assault occurred during an argument that morning at 8:30, police said.

Police observed injuries to the victim that were consistent with her story, police said. Heath was taken into custody at the residence around 11:10 a.m.

This is Heath’s first criminal offense in Montgomery County.
