Some gift suggestions for the Angler in your life....

From a simple stocking stuffer to a new fishing boat in the driveway, it's not to hard to please the angler on your Christmas list. 
 
Without a doubt, come Christmas morning, some lucky angler will find that new boat in their driveway or garage. My chances of being that fortunate are slim to none or even less. However, it is still possible to put a smile on your anglers' face with the more down to earth choices that are available. So here are a few suggestions that just might do the trick even if your on a pretty tight budget.
 
It might be a good idea, if you don't already know, to figure out what that person fishes for. Is he or she fishing in fresh water or salt water would be the main question. After uncovering that mystery the rest is easy. Is the main quarry Bass, Trout, Musky or Marlin, Blues and sharks? 
 
Starting with stocking stuffers there are endless choices of lures and other accessories. Lures designed for specific fish species are usually marked that way. Bass, Musky, Panfish etc. Even just one of these can delight the angler on your list. 
 
Then you could consider a new tackle box. The soft or cloth ones are becoming more popular these days and hold individual plastic lure boxes. This is a good choice for anyone, like me, that is still lugging around one of those big plastic or metal ones. The selections vary in size but remember a tackle box can never be to big. 
 
The novice or seasoned angler will always need another rod and reel. Almost any sporting goods section will include a "Rod & Reel" combo selection. 
 
Fishing from a kayak is becoming popular today. There are some that are already outfitted with rod holders, dry storage, comfortable seats and so forth. So perhaps this is a choice for someone that just can't afford that new Bass Boat. If you follow "Fishing Fever" you know that my kayak, "Big Red", is a bit hard to handle. After seeing these new ones I just might think about a change. Do you hear me Santa? Anyway, I will mention, that your selection should focus on quality and not quantity. So for a few dollars or a small fortune it is possible to put a smile on any angler's face!
 
In a effort to be fair I will mention that the accompanying pictures were taken during a visit to French Creek Outfitters over near Phoenixville. I did add in Santa for the "WOW" factor effect. Keep in mind that the big chain stores in our area have good quality fishing gear as well. One advantage of going to a sporting goods outlet is that there is usually a employee, familiar with the sport, that can answer questions, recommend proper gear and help you avoid mistakes.
 
So if the fisher person on your list has been good this year get out there and make them smile on Christmas morning.
