The Greater Philadelphia Expo Center played host to the "Discover the Dinosaurs" exhibit over the weekend, treating guests to an up-close look at more than 60 animatronic dinosaur displays and various other games and activites. The G-Riders charitable cycling team kicked off their 2013 fundraising season with a boom on Saturday night, hosting their annual "Cheers Charity" event at Penguin's Pub in Warminster. All benefits from the fundraiser are donated to various local and national charities, including the Irish Pub Daniel Faulkner Fund, the National Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, the Indian Creek Foundation and the American Diabetes Foundation.   The Sixth Annual Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund Wine in Winter event was held on Feb. 1 at Normandy Farms Conference Center in Blue Bell, bringing together hundreds of supporters for the non-profit, which helps families caring for ill and disabled children. Guests enjoyed the fare from more than 40 restaurants from throughout Pennsylvania, and were able to participate in a silent auction and raffles for unique and exclusive items and experiences, including a Walt Disney World package, dinner with a local food critic, and more. The nonprofit organization Knights For Life — which provides donations and support to North Penn families and individuals suffering a loss or battling an illness — held its first-ever Beef and Beer Fundraiser Saturday night at Presentation of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church on Allentown Road in Towamencin. The beef and beer was inspired by a prior successful beef and beer in 2012 called "Miketallica," which raised money for the family of the late Mike Saks, a North Penn graduate and former teacher.  Saks and the late Chris Melchior — both died from cancer — were the North Penn Knights "for…
The inaugural Phoenix Cup at the Holiday Inn in Towamencin was a bullseye. The event saw Lansdale Amusement Co. in Hatfield providing 40 state-of-the-art Korean-made VSPhoenix dartboards for the $22,000 dart tournament Friday at the Sumneytown Pike hotel, according to The Reporter Online. The newspaper reports the digital dart machines have remote-play capabilities — you can challenge someone in another country from your neighborhood bar via a special online card — and are complete with surround sound speakers and 26-inch HD monitors.
