Burglary, Attempted Burglary in One Day in Upper Gwynedd

Upper Gwynedd Township Police are investigating a burglary on Station Drive and an attempted burglary on Patriot Drive that occurred Friday

Upper Gwynedd was the choice locale for burglaries Friday by a suspected burglar or burglars.

The burglary and attempted burglary occurred in the daytime.

At 11:06 a.m., police responded to an attempted burglary on the 900 block of Patriot Drive. Sources posted the address as 921 Patriot Drive in Upper Gwynedd.

The homeowner heard loud knocking at the door, but did not recognize the vehicle in the driveway, police said.

When he went to check it out, he saw a black male at the back door, attempting to gain entry, police said.

The burglar fled upon discovery, police said.

Witnesses described the vehicle parked in the driveway as a gray Lincoln Town Car with a dark-colored gray or black vinyl roof, police said. The car was occupied by two black males wearing gray-hooded sweatshirts, police said.

The suspects stopped at the intersection of Patriot Drive and Valley Forge Road, and it appeared they were concealing the registration with duct tape, police said.

They fled south on Valley Forge Road.

Investigators found pry marks and a cut screen on a rear ground floor window, police said.

Then, at 12:57 p.m., Upper Gwynedd officers responded to a burglary discovered on the 100 block of Station Drive, police said.

The homeowner came home and found her back door forced open with a pry tool, police said.

A neighbor reported a gray Lincoln Town Car with a dark vinyl top backed into the driveway at around 10:30 a.m., police said.

Although not confirmed by police, T on Liberty Bell Drive had a suspect and vehicle that matched descriptions in the Upper Gwynedd burglaries.

, a back screen door was cut and windows were moved in an attempt to gain entry into a home on Anders Road on Wednesday.
