Cool Nature: Great Blue Heron Caught on Video in Lansdale by Reader

A reader living near Poplar Street and North Valley Forge Road captured the long-legged bird on video and shared with Patch.

A Patch reader shared the discovery of a new friend in the creek in their backyard near North Valley Forge Road and Poplar Street in Lansdale.
A Great Blue Heron hangs out near the creek and sometimes hides in the drain pipe under a bridge.
"The wing span of this heron was huge," said reader Nicole Maae. "I thought I was seeing things when it flew by yesterday, and then my daughter was walking home from school today and saw it too. That's when she took the pictures and videos."

These are the buggers that eat the fish out of my neighbor's pond!

Don't blame the heron, he belongs here. I see herons in my back yard quite often. They eat the fish and frogs out of the Towamencin creek and the pond. I also see lots of deer, foxes, snapping turtles, box turtles, snakes, and crawfish.
