Earthling, Andross, POV Bring Factory Down

On Friday and Saturday, 15 bands spanning five school districts come together for a music festival of talented proportions.

There was a drum solo. There were amazing guitar licks. There was headbanging. There was fun.
Local rock bands spanning the North Penn, Pennridge, Souderton, Central Bucks and Phoenixville school districts descend upon a comforting, well-known venue in Lansdale Friday and Saturday for the inaugural Lansdale Music Fest.
The fest had the flavor for the ears of many a young adult: hardcore, punk, reggae, indie and post-hardcore.
Lansdale Music Factory, formerly The PEAK Center, is a small music venue and record store, owned by the Griffo Family, proprietors of The Attic secondhand store at Wood and Main streets.
On Friday, Soviet Sleeper Agent and Andross opened the show with their eclectic blends of indie and punk rock.
Earthling—a Lansdale-based "suicidal space rock" group—premiered at the event and blasted eardrums and minds with its loud, heavy set.
Pillars of Villainy, or POV, to use the vernacular, had heads banging for their thrash set.
Before the show ended at 10 p.m., Doylestown's reggae punk The Mahlors grooved the crowd out from a lively evening with its passionate, bombastic performance. These guys can wail.
The Fest continues Saturday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. with 10 more local bands. Get in for $12 (or perhaps you paid the $20 for both shows).
There's no booze at the Lansdale Music Factory, but there are bars in walking distance:

  • Round Guys Brewery
  • Montella's Pub
  • Molly Maguire's
  • Third and Walnut Bar
