Lights Out: No Lansdale Light Show This Year

Gene Rose, of Perkiomen Avenue, would wow drivers and pedestrians with his Christmas display and light show synchronized to music via your radio since 2010. This year, there will be no show as Rose deals with health issues

Each Thanksgiving night, since 2010, Perkiomen Avenue in Lansdale would light up.

Resident Gene Rose would set up 16,000 LED lights along the façade of his house, the roof, around every window, and even on the bushes out front. Last year, he had a 15-foot-tall Megatree out front.

The fantastic light display at his home had another niche: synchronized music. All you had to do was tune in to 90.7 FM.

This year, Perkiomen Avenue will be a lot darker.

Rose notified Lansdale Patch via Facebook that his Christmas display will not be possible in 2012, due to medical issues.

With a heavy heart I must announce that my Christmas display, “Perkiomen Ave Lights”, on Perkiomen Ave in Lansdale will not be possible this year due to medical reasons.

I hope to be able to return next year with the additions that I was working on for this year and hopefully even more.

I am sorry for any disappointment and ask for understanding in this decision.

Thank you

So, instead of witnessing the real thing, check out the video of Rose's light show from 2011.
