St. Stans Festival Returns for 52nd Year

The annual carnival runs Tuesday through Saturday behind Mater Dei Catholic School in Lansdale. Live music performs every night.

Oscar's Amusements has been busy setting up all the favorite rides, games and attractions behind the Mater Dei Catholic School parking lot in preparation for the 52nd annual St. Stanislaus annual Summer Festival.

The festival kicks off Tuesday at 6 p.m. and runs the same time each night until 10 p.m. through Saturday.

Wednesday and Thursday offer a Family Night special—$18 wristbands allow anyone to ride as much as they can for the night.

What is a St. Stans Festival without live music and the Bier Garten? 

Tuesday night features The Wayne Johnston Band. Mike Greer & Company play Wednesday at the carnival.

SteelCreek Country Band jams on Thursday, and Midnight Review rocks the crowd on Friday.

How's your pitching arm and your aim? Find out Wednesday night at the Dunk Tank Challenge.

Two participants will go head to head to see who can raise the most money for the Parish. Winner gets bragging rights. The challengers are John Earley vs. Ed Ward, Domenic Volpe vs. David Niece, and Jack Byers vs. Jack Herman.

According to coordinator Linda Volpe, volunteers are needed for the event. Volunteers can sign up online at signupgenius.com. Visit the site, and click "Find a Sign Up." Enter stansfest12@gmail.com when prompted for a creator email. Then, volunteers can pick his or her speciality: game booths, food booth, event staff or set-up help.  

The St. Stanislaus Festival also features a Parish Garage Sale. The garage sale is open through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., and 6 p.m. to 8 pm; Friday, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.; and Saturday, 8 a.m. to noon.  

The farmers' market will return this year to the carnival. Donations of fresh produce and homemade canned goods are welcome and can be dropped off before 5 p.m. any night of the festival.
