Telford Family Facing Eviction Looking for Public Support

Vicki Lilley says she, her husband and three children may be kicked out of their home because their landlord allowed the property to go into foreclosure.

A Telford family is facing possible eviction from their home despite the fact that they are up to date on their rent.

Vicki Lilley says she, her husband, Derrick, and three children may be kicked out of their home because their landlord allowed the property to go into foreclosure.

“Despite consistently paying our rent on time for the past three years, our landlords somehow found themselves in foreclosure and we are at high risk for being evicted by the bank,” Vicki Lilley wrote on a GoFundMe page she started Monday.

Lilley said the only way she even learned of the foreclosure is because the bank and lawyers accidentally sent mail to the home.

“Of course, our landlords live in a great house and have good jobs, so we don't understand how they could let this happen. Why they haven't been using our rent money for its purpose is extremely frustrating and disappointing,” Vicki Lilley wrote on the page.

Originally, the family’s plan was to save enough money to buy the house. “We were well on our way, but then my husband had to quit his job due to disability,” she wrote. “I work hard at my job, which I have had for over 11 years, and my husband does whatever he can.”

Lilley said she began the GoFundMe page because she wants her three children, Aiden, 11, Greysen, 3, and Colby, 2, to be able to stay at the house they love.

“They have friends here and Aiden is about to start middle school. My husband and I really don't want to pull them away from everything they know and love to go find another rental that may turn out to be a dump.”
