Widow of Amish Schoolhouse Shooter to Speak in Lansdale
Marie Monville, widow of the shooter who held an Amish schoolhouse hostage in 2006, will be at the Lansdale United Methodist Church on Saturday to discuss her book.
The widow of the man who shot ten Amish girls at the West Nickel Mines School in 2006 will speak in Lansdale this weekend.
Marie Monville, formerly Marie Roberts, will be at the Lansdale United Methodist Church Saturday to discuss her book, “One Light Still Shines.”
Monville is the widow of Charlie Roberts, the man responsible for the Nickel Mines tragedy, which resulted in the death of five Amish girls. Monville, a mother of three, decided that this tragedy would not define her life and has written a book hoping to inspire others.

Her message is that “no matter how tragic your circumstance, your life is not a tragedy. It is a love story. And in your love story, when you think all the lights have gone out, one light still shines,” event organizers from the church said in an announcement.
The event begins at 8:30 a.m. with check in and breakfast. Singing and music will follow and then Monville will give a talk. Her book will be available for purchase after the event; she will be available to sign copies.
