Road Trip Apps

For many summertime means a road trip.  So, for those who find all that travel time can get a little tough, especially with little ones, AT&T has some app suggestions to help make the miles fly by.

Roadninja, free for Android and iOS, is like having a local along with you no matter where you go.  While you drive your co-pilot can find the best place to stop for a bite, stock up on snacks or get gas.  It even tells you real-time gas prices and shares special offers from businesses in the area.

Field Trip is a fantastic app to discover new things in unfamiliar places.   It alerts you when there’s somewhere you might want to stop for a field trip, whether it’s a museum, a historical site or some unique architecture.  And it will customize its recommendations based on your thumbs up or thumbs down.

Road Trip Bingo allows you to take the classic game on the road, but without all the pieces.  You just open the app and create a board by shaking your device.  The board will have over 40 items like signs, vehicles and animals for the family to find outside the window.  This app will keep the whole family engaged, interacting with one another, and even looking out the window.  This is 99 cents and available for Android and iOS.

Road Trip Scavenger Hunt is another great one that allows the whole family to play along.  It’s like the old I-spy game we used to play as kids.  You play by entering names of players and choosing to look for words, objects, or a combination of both.  The game will randomly select an item for everyone to look for. When someone spots it, you just hit the button with their name and they get a point.  This is also 99 cents and available for Android and iOS.
