Teacher Quailty Matters!

One of the most durable findings in education and educational reform is that student learning depends directly on the quality of our teachers. In North Penn we have been focusing on making our teachers better. Through effective continuing education, better screening and hiring practices, and by encouraging professional improvement by funding over 80% of the cost to increase the level of education of our teaching staff, we have been able to improve North Penn’s teaching ranks. In recent years this effort has come close to costing us nearly 1 million dollars in a single year. No matter how passionate experts may argue about the importance of size of class or school, or how public education operates in general, or even whether education is being funded appropriately, virtually none of these same experts failed to put teacher quality at the top of the list of important factors for learning and educational success of students. Can we do more? Let's debate!

We’ve removed the ability to reply as we work to make improvements. Learn more here
