Free 6 Week Ophthalmic Training Program

Mid Atlantic Retina (MAR), the premier retinal surgical practice in our tri-state area, recently conducted a training program for individuals seeking to jump start potential careers as ophthalmic technicians. Five individuals, some already employed and some seeking to advance their careers, participated in a six week Ophthalmic Training Program at MAR’s Plymouth Meeting office.  The practice, comprised of 19 world renowned retina surgeons, incurred all costs of the program including materials and instruction. 

Efforts were made by MAR to match participants with existing job openings throughout Pennsylvania. “We were especially pleased to see that several graduates of the program have already interviewed for Ophthalmic technician jobs in the area; a sign that the program is off to a running start”, says Dr. James Vander, a physician at Mid Atlantic Retina.

The practice was so pleased with the participants' commitment to learn about retina medical health, their responsiveness to on-the-job exposure and their caring and compassionate nature, that they will have a another one coming soon.
