Police Investigate Attempted Child Luring in Upper Gwynedd Friday

A black man with a goatee, driving a four-door gold Honda, attempted to find a 10-year-old girl's name and address as she stood at a bus stop at Morris Road and Blue Fox Drive, police said.

Upper Gwynedd Township Police said a 10-year-old girl was the target of an attempted luring as she stood alone at a bus stop Friday morning at Morris Road and Blue Fox Drive.
Police said at 8:45 a.m. officers responded to the area for the incident, which had occurred about 10 minutes earlier.
Police said a black man with a goatee driving a gold four-door Honda approached the girl while she waited for her bus. Police said the vehicle was possibly a Honda Civic.
The man asked the girl her name, and she replied it was none of his business, police said.
The driver then asked where she lived, police said. The girl ran away from the area, and the vehicle followed her in the same direction, police said.
The driver then left the area when the girl was able to elude him, police said.
The vehicle was last seen turning right onto Muhlenberg Drive from Morris Road.
The driver is in his 40s, police said.
Police sent out an immediate Be On the Lookout flash detail of the incident via Montgomery County radio. The area was searched, police said.
Local school officials were advised of the incident, police said.
The incident remains under investigation.
Upper Gwynedd Township Police urged parents to remind their children of the danger of strangers and instruct them to immediately leave the area and tell a trusted adult or call 911.
Police also urged children to remain alert of their surroundings, especially when alone.
