Towamencin Declares Snow Emergency at 3 P.M. Thursday

Towamencin Township has announced that a snow emergency has been declared starting at 3 p.m. Thursday until 6 p.m. Friday.
Due to the impending snow storm, the township is asking all Towamencin residents to remove all vehicles, and seasonal vehicles, from the roadways by placing them in their driveways.
This will ensure streets are cleared in the most efficient manner, police said.
When a snow emergency is declared by the township, all cars must be removed from roadways/streets designated as “Snow Emergency Route."
Vehicles not removed are subject to citation.
Residents who do not live on a designated “Snow Emergency Route” are encouraged to
remove all vehicles, and seasonal vehicles, from the roadways by placing them in their driveways, if possible. This will ensure streets are cleared, and to allow plow drivers unobstructed ability to plow roadways.
Plowing of snow from your driveways into the roadways is prohibited by township ordinance.
All sidewalks are required to be cleared of snow and ice within 24 hours of the end of the snowfall.
Police urge residents to check on the elderly and frail in neighborhoods. If residents know of an elderly neighbor who needs assistance, they are encouraged to help them, including any shoveling of snow.
