Two Extricated in 2-Car Accident at 309 and Line Lexington in Hatfield

A Jeep Cherokee and a Ford Fusion collided at Line Lexington Road and Route 309, sending two to area hospitals.

Colmar Fire Co. crews extricated two male drivers from their vehicles following a two-car crash on Route 309 at Line Lexington Road/County Line Road shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday.
According to Pat Hanrahan of Hatfield Township Police, both drivers were carried by stretchers to awaiting VMSC vehicles. Hanrahan said the driver of the Focus may have to be airlifted for treatment.
The accident involves a black Jeep Cherokee and a Ford Fusion.
The impact was at the southbound lane of Bethlehem Pike and Line Lexington Road.
The Cherokee was facing east toward County Line Road in the southbound lanes at the intersection with severe front-end damage.
The Ford, on the other hand, was about 40 to 50 yards away in the northbound lane of Bethlehem Pike with severe driver side damage.
"It's not a question of why are the cars so far apart; it's a question of where they came to rest," Hanrahan said.
Route 309 is closed at Hilltown Pike to Trewigtown Road.
Colmar Fire Co. Rescue, Hatfield Fire Co., Hatfield Township Police and Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale responded to the scene.
Hatfield Township Police Highway Safety Unit is investigating the crash at present.
Alternate route is County Line Road and Line Lexington Road.
