GIANT Food Stores appoints Montgomeryville nutritionist

GIANT Food Stores today announced the appointment of Christina Fava, MA, RDN, LDN to in-store nutritionist at its Montgomeryville store located at 1201 Knapp Road in Montgomeryville (North Wales). She will be available at the store to assist customers with questions on healthy eating while they shop, provide one-on-one nutrition consultations, teach health-related classes, and conduct Kid Healthy Ideas store tours. In addition, Fava will also participate in future health-related events throughout the surrounding community.

Fava most recently provided one-on-one nutrition counseling with Corporate Wellness: Family Food LLC in Philadelphia. She also brings experience in providing diabetes and weight loss education for Type 2 diabetic patients and creating individualized meal plans. Fava recently completed her master’s degree in nutrition education from Immaculata University and presented her thesis at the 2013 Pennsylvania Dietetic Association annual meeting earlier this year. She is also a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Fava resides in St. Davids.

And just in time to help you keep your healthy New Year’s resolutions, the Montgomeryville GIANT is hosting several meet and greet sessions for customers to get to know Fava. Stop by GIANT on January 30, 5 – 6 p.m., January 31, 10 – 11 a.m., or February 1, 10 – 11 a.m. Customers who complete a survey while visiting with Fava will receive a GIANT reusable bag, the latest edition of Healthy Ideas magazine, and a coupon book with $30 in savings.
