GIANT Food Stores completes remodel at Montgomeryville store

GIANT Food Stores has completed a major remodel of its store located at 1201 Knapp Road in Montgomeryville (North Wales). The store underwent a six-month remodel to provide customers with an expanded product selection and features for a more convenient shopping experience.

One of those features is a Beer Garden and Eatery which will seat thirty-five. This location marks the ninth GIANT store to sell beer in Pennsylvania. Montgomeryville customers will find a vast selection of domestic and imported beers with an emphasis on craft and specialty beers in the Beer Garden and Eatery. A wide variety of eat-in and take-out selections will be offered, including a hot buffet, hot and cold sandwiches, Chinese, wraps and subs, piping hot savory soups, an array of baked foods and desserts, and a wide selection of other beverages and coffee.  Customers will have a “mix-a-six” option where they can create their own six packs from a variety of craft beers.  The Beer Garden and Eatery Café will offer free WiFi and will be open Monday – Saturday 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Sundays 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

“We are excited to bring a bigger selection of products and store amenities to the Montgomeryville community,” said Doug Sternberger, district director. “This remodel offers our customers even more convenience, quality, and value they expect from GIANT.”

With an eye on energy conservation, LED lighting was newly installed in many areas of the store, including overhead track lights, spotlights on specialty areas & displays, exterior store signs and in the frozen food cases. LED lights are longer-lasting and are expected to reduce wattage by half.

GIANT is enforcing a 100% proof-of-age policy at the new Beer Garden and Eatery. Cashiers will ask for proper identification – a valid driver’s license, passport or military identification card – from any customer wanting to purchase alcohol, regardless of age.
