Cops, Hatfield Mayor Play Grocery Baggers at ShopRite Partners in Caring Day

Dignitaries across six states helped raise awareness of hunger and raise funds for area food banks during 'ShopRite Partners in Caring Day' on Wednesday.

It's been years since anyone told Hatfield Borough Mayor Robert Kaler III paper in plastic.
The mayor was one of many dignitaries—including Towamencin Township Police Chief Tim Dickinson, Hatfield Township Officer Pat Hanrahan and Oak Park Elementary Principal Doug Povilaitis—who volunteered their time Wednesday during the statewide "ShopRite Partners in Caring Day" event to bag hunger.
The dignitaries at the Forty Foot Road ShopRite were just a handful of ones across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, New York and Connecticut celebrating Sept. 18 as "ShopRite Partners in Caring Day."
Monetary donations were accepted throughout the day Wednesday to aid Manna on Main Street in Lansdale and the food pantry at Lives Changed By Christ Church in Lower Salford, formerly BranchCreek Church.
