Be yourself, everyone else is already taken.
You are someone’s definition of perfect.
Be the best person you can be.
You have every right to a beautiful life.
Those are just four of the 70 inspirational quotes that were posted on each Penndale Middle School locker, surprising students Wednesday morning.
Eighth graders Morgan Nadeau and Kate Amin came up with the idea to post the notes with uplifting sayings because they wanted to make fellow students feel special, according to an article in The Reporter. The plan was approved by the school’s principal.
The pair hand wrote more than 1,800 inspirational notes on colorful paper and placed one on each locker throughout the school. The entire student body was surprised by the gesture when they arrived at their lockers Wednesday morning, North Penn School District posted on Twitter.
“They’re all words of encouragement,” Amin told The Reporter. “Stuff that would make you smile, that would make you know you’re worth it.”
Students and their parents reacted with gratitude and appreciated the sentiment behind the notes. They took to social media to express their delight.
"Just another way the students are showing that they are supported and being taught the right things at Penndale. My daughter goes there and I could not be prouder. What a great bunch of girls. This is what memories are made of. I wish I could meet them and give them a hug," one parent wrote on Facebook.
Even people who don't go to the school or have kids there felt inspired by the girls' notes.
"That's awesome! I hope their kindness inspires others!," another reader wrote on Facebook.
