Easter

Today I am grateful for Easter.  I’m always torn at the big holidays.  When the people you love are all over the country, it’s difficult.

Our daughter in Sheboygan, Wisconsin throws a great Easter Egg Hunt and brunch that we hate to miss.  My sister and husband will take my mom out to dinner in Madison, Wisconsin.  We have dear friends in Virginia, North Carolina, California. . .and all over the place.  I sometimes wish I could chop myself into bits and be everywhere at once.  But when we lived in Jakarta, Indonesia, I learned a profound lesson.  If you’re not living’ where you are. . .you’re not living at all.  We are living where we are.

So today, this Easter, I’ll be grateful to have two sons, a daughter-in-law and a three of our grandkids share our table.  I will turn off technology and request that they all do the same so that we can actually look at each other and talk in person.  I hope you and your family, family of choice, or friends will do the same.  And if you don’t celebrate Easter, just remember that every holiday is Thanksgiving.  Have a wonderful, peaceful day.
