Hi Brian,
Just came home from the hospital. I fell on the ice yesterday. Looked like the old banana peel slip you see in the old movies. Did not catch my fall, so my head and back hit the ice at the same time.
Writing thoughts on our local, "Patch Montgomeryville," blog section, our local online paper. I wish to express how angry I am that my grandchildren and employees at the hospital ( this was not our local hospital), along with more and more corporations can not say or display,"Merry Christmas." Even if you know the person is a Christian you can not personally wish them Merry Christmas in school. We were passing the Church on Cowpath Rd. when my grandson, who is twelve, yes like the twelve days of Christmas, becomes alarmingly alert to a sign, "Jesus saves!" He said," Mei Mei, that sign is mean!" Confused, I questioned," why?" "The sign is mean, it hurts the feelings of other children because they don't worship Jesus."
Our family attends, The Society of Friends Meeting House. Persecuted for spiritual beliefs, Quakerism is a Christian based religion, which accepts a personal connection with Christ. Persecuted in England, friend's would secretly meet in homes, referred to as," meeting houses." We are respectful toward all faiths, as the United States Constitutions expects us to be. Yet he is still confused because respect toward Christians is not always a two way street. This does not mean the educational system believes this is the politically correct action, it just signifies the power of politics, is not for all, "the people."
As a Quaker, we are activist for all who need help, not just Christians. Why is it Christians are now politically incorrect? We have Buddhist, Jews and many other people of faiths come to the Society of Friends weekly to help others. What is so different now? Some say immigration caused this change. I do not think so.
Immigration was and still is popular and a compliment to the United States citizens due to our Constitution allowing," Freedom of Speech and Religion."
Brian Let me know your thoughts, you disagree with many of our topics of conversation, yet you are always respectful to me and I value our friendship. You broaden my education which helps me understand you and other people's opinions.. Maybe someone can explain politically correct faiths. I am posting a copy of your original Monday Night live show.
