Comparing Cigna Medicare Supplement Plan F to Plan N

I am often asked why a Medicare beneficiary would choose Cigna Plan N as opposed to Plan F. The answer is really simple. Plan F along with Medicare will cover 99% of your health care costs for doctors and hospital charges but, if you choose Plan N for a Male age 65 your monthly premium will be approximately $53.00 less per month which equates to approximately $600.00 per year savings. Your responsibility under a Plan N is just $147.00 annually and once you have met that annual deductible you'll pay up to $20.00 per doctor visit whether it is a Primary Care Physician or Specialist. In addition, you'll pay up to $50.00 for an ER visit. Outside of those small co-pays the plans provide similiar benefits. You would have to see many doctors or specialists in a given year before a Plan N would ever cost you more annually out of pocket than Plan F. Just another way you can save money when using Medicare.
