Ciao, Maestro: Montco Concert Band Director, Former Principal Frederick Succumbs to Cancer

The former North Penn High School educator, administrator and band director passed away Saturday.

Bravo on life, Maestro.
Stephen E. Frederick, the former Montgomery County Concert Band director and longtime North Penn High School principal, went to the big concert hall in the sky Saturday after a long battle with cancer, per his CarePages site.
Frederick honed his music education at West Chester University as an undergraduate, and then moved on to earn a secondary school education master's at Villanova, according to the Montgomery County Concert Band tribute.
Frederick shaped young minds at Colonial and Central Bucks school districts before landing a gig as band director of the Marching Knights at North Penn in 1972.
He became principal at the school in 1990, according to the tribute. He left education in 2003 after 35 years.
Frederick also hosted programs at WNPV 1440AM Info Radio in Towamencin.
In 2013, Frederick was bestowed with the North Penn Education Foundation Excellence in Education Award. Watch an interview on YouTube here.
