Mary was a loving homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking, and gardening.

Mary C. Schaffer, "Nan", 100, of North Wales, died on September 8, 2012.

She was a resident of the Frederick Living Community.

She was the wife of the late Joseph Schaffer. Mary was born in Northampton, PA on July 28, 1912 to the late Herman and Ida (Janosits) Sommer.

She was a graduate of Our Lady of Hungary School in Northampton.

She was employed as an Executive Food Service Worker for Univac for 15 years.

Mary was also a loving homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking, and gardening.

She was a member of Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church in North Wales.

She is survived by two sons Joseph Schaffer and wife Eleanor of Wyomissing, PA, Dennis Schaffer and wife Patricia of Perkiomenville, PA,

7 grandchildren Glenn, Gail, Mark, Laurene, Steven, Neal, Warren,

8 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. 

She was pre-deceased by a daughter Mary Jane Harris, a grandson Blane Harris, and all 8 of her siblings 

Minnie Jandrisovits Wechsler, Ida Schweitzer, Joseph Sommer, Louis Sommer, Pauline Blume, Johanna Blume, Angela "Gail" Hottenstein, Rose Sommer.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church, 1325 Upper State Rd., North Wales, PA.

The Viewing will be from 8:30-10:00 AM at the Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Home, 951 E. Butler Pike, Ambler.

Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Norristown.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's name to Frederick Living Community, 2849 Big Road, Frederick, PA 19435.
