OBIT: Mary S. Ward, 72, of North Wales, Lansdale Catholic Teacher

Ward taught physics and chemistry at Archbishop Wood High School, and most recently, at Lansdale Catholic High School, where she was also involved in organizing teen encounter retreats.

Mary S. Ward, 72, of North Wales, died July 5 at Temple University
Hospital.

Born in Darby, PA., she was the daughter of the late Paul and Winifred
Donnelley Scott. She lived in North Wales since 1985, and was formerly of Cortland, NY and Lansdowne, PA.

Mrs. Ward graduated from Notre Dame High School and Immaculata College, and
earned her Masters from SUNY at Cortland. She taught physics and chemistry at Archbishop Wood High School, and most recently, at Lansdale Catholic High School, where she was also involved in organizing teen encounter retreats.

Mrs. Ward was a devoted member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, where she
was a regular at the Adoration Chapel. She also was active in Marriage
Encounter and Marriage Retorno.

Surviving is her beloved husband of 48 years, Joseph J. Ward, and four
sons Joseph J. Ward, Jr. and his wife Adrienne of Cheltenham, John S. Ward
and his wife Cynthia of Yardley, Daniel P. Ward and his wife Kristen of
Sellersville and Timothy R. Ward of Horsham; seven grandchildren and one
great grandchild. She is also survived by brothers Paul "Bud" Scott of
Broomall and Edwin Scott of Yardley and sister Winifred Haug of Punta
Gorda, Fl.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Tuesday,
July 9th at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, PA.
19446, where the family will receive friends Tuesday from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m.
Interment Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA. 
For those desiring, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mary's memory to Lansdale Catholic Scholarship Fund, 7th Street and Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, PA.
