Kids from Montgomeryville, PA got a chance to participate in the trend of the season at the recent Band-A-Palooa at A.C. Moore and make a stretch band bracelet for free (seen here).  Chances are if you know or have been near an elementary, middle or high schooler, you have seen one of the hottest trends in recent years, colorful, woven stretch band bracelets.  The neon, rainbow and brightly hued bracelets are made by kids out of small stretchy “rubber” bands into several patterns.

According to Robin Beam, director of education for A.C. Moore Arts and Crafts Stores, (www.acmoore.com) the materials to make them are flying off of the shelves, but not everyone is comfortable trying different patterns and styles.  “We wanted to create a FREE mass event, available to anyone who could come to one of our 140 stores, so they could learn for themselves how easy it is to make a basic stretch band bracelet using your hands and a crochet hook!”
