5-Year-Old Boy Hit By Car, Treated at CHOP

The boy was struck by a vehicle at E. Second Street and North Broad Street on Tuesday evening

A five-year-old boy from the 600 block of Kenilworth Avenue, Lansdale, was transported to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Tuesday night after he was hit by a car on the 200 block of N. Broad Street in Lansdale.

At around 8:15 p.m. Feb. 28, Lansdale Police were called for a struck pedestrian.

A witness said the boy was running west across North Broad Street from the east side, police said.

The driver of the striking vehicle, an 18-year-old male from the 600 block of N. Broad Street, Lansdale, was north on North Broad Street in a 2002 Toyota Prius, police said.

The driver was not speeding, police said.

Police said the boy had been shopping in a store with his father, when he ran out of the store and into the street.

The boy's condition is not known at this time.
